World Dominance, One Friend at a Time

I feel that Facebook has helped millions keep in contact with people that they otherwise wouldn’t have been able to. For that, they should be applauded for helping maintain millions of friendships and acquaintanceships. They have strayed from their original purpose, helping people keep in touch after high school graduating, and gone into the smothering blanket of social networking. They've helped people become more creative too with things like Facebook banners to help members artistically "do up" their profile pages.
However, my opinion is that Facebook has unnecessarily stuck its nose in all facets of the Internet that it has become extremely annoying. If I want to see Facebook links on every page I see, I would stay on Facebook. I still use it, but I feel that it should stick to what it originally set out to do and focus on site design and maintenance. The site designers seem to do what they wish while users are constantly complaining whenever something gets changed. I think the designers should listen to the users more since they’re the ones who make the site popular.
