There's Some Motocross in All of Us

posted on 13 February 2012

While I've never taken the time to learn how to drive a motocross bike, I have several friends who have made a living from the sport. Her name was Molly, and throughout our entire graduate school life she could always be found racing in her motocross clothing on the track in either her backyard, or at our neighboring track. Whenever I would see her riding her dirt bike, I would always marvel at the courage and hand-eye coordination it required to turn those corners every two to three seconds without wiping out. But to be fair, she's been doing this sport since she was in Elementary school. I'm not sure whether it was because she was a girl or because of the sport itself, the ability to have fun while being so articulate with the use of a motocross astounds me. And even to someone who has no experience with a dirt bike, every time I see a pile of packed dirt, I can't help but run and jump off it thinking that I to have experienced a little of what it is like to motocross.

Protect Your Assets with a Tracking Device

posted on 19 November 2011

When you own something that is relatively large and very expensive, you will try your best to keep it in your possession and prevent it from getting stolen. This is especially true for cars as you have spent a lot of money in buying one so you wouldn’t want it getting stolen. Unfortunately, we cannot predict when this will happen and the next best thing that we can do is to attach a tracking device onto your car so that you will know where it is going in case it gets stolen. This way, recovery of any stolen vehicle can be done much faster as well as catching the robbers who stole the vehicle. Aside from this, other benefits from having a tracking device are tracing back where your car has been, or knowing where it goes when you let other people use your car. It can also be used for insurance purposes and many more. So why don’t you get one today and enjoy the many benefits of these devices.

Why some women find it difficult to get away from abusive relationships

posted on 24 June 2011

Physical and abuse is something that many women go through and you will find that they do not get away from this abusive relationships. This is maybe because they are very attached to these men especially if kids are involved. There are those who do not have anywhere to go to so they stay through the abuse from their husbands. The people who help them are their families. My big sister was in such situation and we did not know what she was going through until she stopped calling or even visiting anymore. My father got worried and decided to pay her a surprise visit and found her all purple because of bruises that were inflicted by her husband. He was very agitated, he took her home with him even if she refused at first. She was scared of the man. My dad took her and helped her start her life afresh, and I do not even know what my brothers and my father did to my ex brother in law. She even changed her address on her driving license through motoring online helpline. This was her first step to recovery.

My Great Dad, An Initiator of GPS Fleet Tracking System

posted on 25 May 2011

My dad is the most wonderful father the world has ever produced, at least for me. He was responsible, caring, and very smart. He loved technology that he was the first one to use a GPS fleet tracking system in their shipping company. Unfortunately, he already passed away a year ago. It was a car accident so it was too sudden, I didn’t even get the chance to say goodbye. But all in all I have no regrets since I have always told and shown him how much he meant to me. In fact a few hours before the accident I was even talking to him on the phone with my usual just-because calls so I know that he knew his daughter loved him dearly. I miss him so much and tried really hard not to stop my life and wallow in grief because I am sure that my dad will not be pleased. He was a believer of living in the present and not to be dragged by the past so in honor of his memory I need to make the best out of my life and remember him with fondness every once in a while.

Streets of the World Turning into Dumpsters?

posted on 18 April 2011

I was walking down the street the other day looking for a bin to dispose of my cigarette, and it just hit me in the face. The longer I peered at the ground the more trash seemed to be appearing there. Bottles here, papers there - all covered in cigarette butts of those less determined than me. My friend works for a road sweeper hire company and says they've never been busier due to the mounting litter problem. It immediately brought back memories of my holidays in India, where the amounts of trash lying around is unthinkable where one gets used to the concept of waking up at 7 AM to the smell of burning plastic. However, that country, unfortunately, lacks the infrastructure, while we don’t. In fact, it makes it even more unfortunate, since we actually have all the means to support and protect the environment we live in, while instead we’re lazy enough to dump our waste on the ground. Situations like these show me, that countries like Singapore implement the right solution by simply charging 500 dollars for a cigarette butt that “missed the bin”. Do we want that too? Or should we just finally take on a bit more responsibility for the future of the nature, which will surround our children if we do our best to keep it alive?

What you need to know about car mot

posted on 16 April 2011

Having to drive a car day in, day out may present to it wear and tear that needs to be checked and repaired so that it is safe to use at all times while on the road. The uk government is dedicated to seeing that its citizens are protected from accidents on the road that could otherwise been caused by driving of unroadworthy vehicles. The ministry of transport together with the automobiles department in uk conducts annual car MOT which aims at seeing that all cars on the road are in a good condition. If this is not the case for your car then it is withdrawn from the road and you cannot use it anymore. All the vehicles that have been in use for three years and above go through this test and it is very OK since it is not costly to do it. When you are not satisfied with the results you can do a retest for another one day and it is free. When it is done you will be satisfied and at peace every time your car is on the road.

The Challenges and Woes of Driving in a Cosmopolitan City

posted on 22 March 2011

These days I hate going to work, not only because of my work profile but because I picture the streets full of traffic and the poor road conditions which am subjected to by my government. I actually spend a lot of time on the roads in my van. I've kitted it out with some comfortable van seating, but that comfort offers only a little solace to what I have to deal with on the roads. We tend to start the day on a bad note and sometimes the effect continues throughout the day. The streets are filled with idiots, slow movers, rash drivers etc. However, this condition is not in our control. But what we wish to control are the bumps and the pot holes while driving and we do that by paying taxes to the government, to the municipality. But we are cheated instead! The fact that our roads still have so many potholes and bumps in spite of adequate funds, is beyond me! My friend just met with an accident on his bike because he could not avoid a pothole. This is ridiculous. Anyway moving ahead, the ever rising fuel prices just make the situation worse. So this is the final picture we are stuck in traffic on bumpy roads with idiots around and some malfunctioning red lights and we waste the gas which is ever so expensive. Not what we signed up for, right?

What to look for when buying a car

posted on 14 March 2011

When buying some thing you should make sure that you look at some things because you can make a bad choice and end up regretting. For example when you are buying a vehicle you should make sure that you get the best one because if you get a vehicle that has been used badly you will waste your money because it will wear out quickly than you think and you will have to buy another one. Going to several car dealers will give you a wide range of cars to choose from and for this reason you will make a wise choice. Make sure you have the dates of manufacture for this will make you know how long it has been used. Another thing to look out for is how much carbon dioxide it emits for this will mean you know how much tax to expect. Also it is good to know how many people have used it and the mileage covered. Checking its fuel consumption is also some thing you should do for this will help you plan and hence make a good choice.

My Life's Dream Career Is To Be An Actor

posted on 21 February 2011

As school going-kids, we were always being questioned by parents and teachers about which profession we wanted to go into. Most of my friends - just like me - have regular jobs. From selling heavy duty van roof racks to nursing to accounting - we take on the everyday roles because that's what's available. However, if I had a choice of ANY job, I would have liked to have been an actor. We all know that the initial days of being an actor are a struggle as you don't get right kind of role in the beginning of your career. The second thing is to be very patient in this industry. Once you get a good character under a renowned director for a decent film it is for sure that your career will take off. Of course for all this to happen you should be hardworking and prove yourself to be a good actor who can fit into any character which your director prefers to do.

Quality Atlanta Moving Companies

posted on 4 February 2011

Last October my aunt and uncle were discussing moving out of an apartment to Atlanta, Georgia. Their neighbors suggested they do the moving themselves, yet others recommened they consider using expert international moving companies. If they did the moving themselves, it can be exhausting and even dangerous. All of that planning and moving, as well as the physical strain it could put on your body is sure to be quite difficult. What if their destination location had difficult access for example a steep mountain road? A couple of their items were quite bulky and cumbersome. Some of their furniture items were also very fragile. They didn't know if they had the expertise to do the work correctly themselves. If they hired a reliable Atlanta, Georgia moving service their move would be simple and easy. Their acquaintance Heather recommended they search Yahoo to discover qualified movers Georgia to give them moving estimates. They discovered Movers-Moving.NET and they were really happy they found them. They got quotes from 8 different movers, and then they were able to compare reviews and pricing. They found a dependable Atlanta relocation service Georgia to do the job for them.
